The Eighth Fire Has Been Lit

According to the sacred teachings of the Anishinaabe People, humanity has now entered the time of the Eighth Fire, a moment of profound decision for the future of our world. This prophecy speaks of eight eras, or “fires,” each marking a key moment in the relationship between Indigenous peoples of Abya Yala (the Americas) and the arriving colonizers.

The Eighth Fire is the final prophecy. It tells us that if humanity chooses the Sacred Path of unity, peace, and healing — guided by justice and love — we will enter a Golden Age. But if we continue on a path of division and destruction, we will descend into deeper suffering.

The fire was publicly lit in 2023 in Hidalgo, Mexico, and carried across the Americas, uniting sacred lineages from both Abya Yala and the Celtic lands of Ireland.
